Keewaytinook Okimakanak is proposing the addition of (3) 0.6m antennae, in the 5 GHz frequency band, mounted near the top of (2) existing 18m and 28m towers which are located on Cat Lake First Nation and Kasabonika First Nations. KO also plans to install fibre optic cabling, for Internet purposes, as the backbone to serve residential homes in the Pikangikum First Nation. The project involves the installation of approximately 2km of aerial fibre optic cable from the Pikangikum fibre cabinet near the airport to the Pikangikum Point of Presence.
