KO Showcase and BBQ at the Blueberry Festival a Great Success

On Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 afternoon, during the 41st Annual Blueberry Festival in Sioux Lookout, ON KO (Keewaytinook Okimakanak) and KNET hosted a BBQ and Showcase at the KNET offices, 115 King Street.

The crowd enjoyed a lunch of delicious fried fish, burgers and hot dogs, bannock, fruit and vegetables and other assorted goodies. The turnout for the event was great! The food went fast. The KO and KNET team cooked up a storm for the crowds to enjoy.

The KO showcase featured many KO departments, including the KO Health Team, Public Works, KO Mental Health, and KOBE. The crowd enjoyed the many giveaways featured at each depts booth and were able to enter their names in prizes and draws for camp chairs, cell phones, and more. The KNET and KO staff from all over the region meet with BBQ goers and community members from all over. The KO executive director, Cory Meekis was in attendance and gave an introductory speech to start the festivities, followed by KNET Director, Jesse Fiddler. Many came out to support Keewaytinook Okimakanak, KO staff and its departments and we could not be more grateful for the opportunity to showcase KO and KNET and the amazing staff and work we do.

Thank you to all who attended! What a success!

Special Thanks to Willow Fiddler and her grandson, Jacob, who took these amazing photographs of the event.
